Travel emergencies do happen, from tripping off a sidewalk, vehicle accidents, snake bites and a host of other mishaps.

• Travel insurance can be purchased for a single trip or multiple trips, the latter being recommended if two or more trips are planned in the course of the year, due to a lower cost structure.
• Discounts are available when travelling with a companion.
